History

The Young String Performers’ Foundation was founded in 2002 by Joan Milkson, with the support of like-minded teachers and parents, as well as colleagues in the National Arts Centre Orchestra. Since its inception, the goal of the Foundation has been to fill a void in the essential elements of music pedagogy for string instruments (violin, viola, ’cello, double bass).
